What is Ledger Master?

Ledger Master in Tally is the repository of all ledger accounts created in the system. It stores ledger details like name, group classification, opening balance, and various configurations. Creating accurate ledger masters is fundamental to proper accounting as every transaction flows through ledgers. Tally provides pre-defined ledgers for common accounts and allows creating unlimited custom ledgers with features like bill-wise details, cost center allocation, and budgets.
