What is Voucher Types?

Voucher Types in Tally define the nature of transactions being recorded, such as Sales, Purchase, Receipt, Payment, Contra, Journal, Debit Note, and Credit Note. Each voucher type has predefined accounting rules and fields appropriate for that transaction category. Tally allows creating custom voucher types with specific numbering series, default accounts, and behavior. Proper use of voucher types ensures accurate accounting and simplified reporting.
