TallyPrime Silver (₹22,500) supports a single user on one computer. TallyPrime Gold (₹67,500) supports unlimited users on a local area network (LAN). Both have identical features — the only difference is single-user vs multi-user access. If you need more than one person working in Tally at the same time, go Gold.

For Silver: subscription costs ₹750/month (₹9,000/year) vs lifetime ₹22,500 + ₹4,500/year TSS. Lifetime breaks even in about 4 years. Most businesses don't. TallyPrime Server (₹2,70,000) is for enterprises needing remote data entry for users outside the LAN, centralized data management across branches, and advanced security controls. If your team is in one office, Gold is sufficient. For remote report viewing only, Gold with TSS works fine.
TSS (Tally Software Services) is optional but highly recommended. It provides software updates, GST compliance updates, connected services (e-invoicing, GSTR filing), remote report access, and data sync.
