Tally Solutions has opened Early Access to the next TallyPrime build so accountants and businesses can preview what is coming. Here is everything the 7.1 Beta includes, based on the vendor's official release notes.
What's New in TallyPrime 7.1 Beta
The 7.1 Beta is a feature-preview release focused on invoice presentation, banking, and GST compliance. According to the official TallyPrime 7.1 release notes, the Beta introduces eight headline additions, summarized here and detailed below.
- Invoice Print Templates: logos, watermarks, custom headers and footers, fonts, colors, and standard terms.
- IMS party reconciliation: fetch and reconcile party details with confidence.
- Auto Wrap Text: comfortable on-screen reading of long fields.
- ICICI connected banking: adds ICICI Bank to the existing Axis, SBI, and Kotak Mahindra integrations.
- Online HSN and SAC validation: verify codes inside TallyPrime.
- Accounting enhancements: more flexible discount application.
- Schedule III (Division I): Excel-based compliant financial statements.
- UAE VAT 201 filing: prepare and file UAE VAT returns.
Invoice Print Templates
The most visible change in TallyPrime 7.1 is configurable invoice print templates. You can add your company logo, apply watermarks, customize the header and footer, choose fonts and colors, and embed standard terms and conditions, so printed and PDF invoices match your brand without external design tools.
IMS: Party Detail Reconciliation
The Invoice Management System (IMS), first introduced in TallyPrime 6.1, gains the ability to fetch and reconcile party details directly from the portal in 7.1. That reduces mismatches between your books and your suppliers' filings and makes input tax credit reconciliation more reliable.
Auto Wrap Text for Comfortable Reading
Long ledger names, narrations, and addresses now wrap automatically on screen instead of being clipped. It is a small but welcome usability change that makes data entry and report review easier on the eye.
ICICI Bank Connected Banking
Connected banking in the 7.1 Beta now extends to ICICI Bank, joining Axis Bank, State Bank of India, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. That brings the number of directly integrated banks for in-Tally payments and reconciliation to four, continuing the secure PrimeBanking experience introduced in TallyPrime 7.0.
Online HSN and SAC Code Validation
TallyPrime 7.1 Beta can validate HSN and SAC codes online from within the software, helping you catch incorrect classifications before they reach a GST return. If you need to check a code outside Tally, our free HSN code finder covers the full GST 2.0 rate schedule.
Schedule III (Division I) Financial Statements
For companies that present accounts under Schedule III (Division I) of the Companies Act, the 7.1 Beta generates Excel-based, compliance-ready financial statements. The vendor notes this is aimed at companies with a net worth below 250 crore rupees.
UAE VAT 201 Filing
Continuing the GCC compliance work from TallyPrime 6.2, the 7.1 Beta supports UAE VAT 201 return preparation and filing for businesses operating in the UAE.
How to Access the TallyPrime 7.1 Early Access (Beta)
The 7.1 Beta is available to users with an active Tally Software Services (TSS) subscription. Download it from the Early Access section on the official Tally website and install it alongside your stable release. Always take a backup first and use a separate test company so your live data is never at risk. If your TSS has lapsed, renew your subscription to access the latest builds.
