TallyPrime 6.2 focused on international business capabilities, particularly for companies operating in or trading with the GCC region. Building on the IMS and Edit Log features of TallyPrime 6.1, this release brought Arabic language invoicing, bilingual document generation, UAE VAT compliance, and authority-compliant invoice formats to TallyPrime.
For businesses with operations in the UAE or those serving Arabic-speaking clients, TallyPrime 6.2 eliminated the need for separate invoicing tools. Here is everything this release includes.
What's New in TallyPrime 6.2
TallyPrime 6.2 was a targeted release with a clear focus: enabling businesses to create, share, and file documents in Arabic and comply with GCC tax regulations. While smaller in scope than the 6.0 or 6.1 releases, it addressed a critical need for the growing number of Indian businesses with Middle Eastern operations and for companies based in the UAE using TallyPrime.
Multilingual Invoice Sharing
The headline feature of TallyPrime 6.2 is full Arabic language support for invoice generation and sharing. This goes beyond the basic Arabic interface support introduced in TallyPrime 5.0, now extending to customer-facing documents.
Arabic Invoice Generation
You can now generate invoices entirely in Arabic, with proper right-to-left text rendering, Arabic numerals, and culturally appropriate formatting. Party names, item descriptions, tax details, and all invoice elements are rendered in Arabic.
Bilingual PDF Documents
For businesses that need to serve both English and Arabic-speaking stakeholders, TallyPrime 6.2 generates bilingual PDF invoices. Each section of the invoice displays content in both English and Arabic side by side, ensuring clarity for all parties involved in the transaction.
Sharing via Email and WhatsApp
Arabic and bilingual invoices can be shared directly from TallyPrime via email or WhatsApp. The WhatsApp integration, first introduced in TallyPrime 4.0, now supports Arabic templates for message content, ensuring a seamless experience for Arabic-speaking recipients.
Tax Invoice Format 2
TallyPrime 6.2 introduced Tax Invoice Format 2, a default authority-compliant invoice format designed to meet the requirements of tax authorities in the GCC region.
- Default compliance: Format 2 is designed to comply with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) requirements out of the box, including mandatory fields like TRN (Tax Registration Number), supply date, and tax breakup.
- Format switching: Users who prefer the original layout can switch back to Format 1 from the invoice configuration settings. Both formats remain available.
- Automatic tax display: VAT amounts are automatically calculated and displayed in the required format, with line-item and summary-level tax breakdowns.
UAE VAT 201 e-Return Filing
For businesses registered for VAT in the UAE, TallyPrime 6.2 supports the VAT 201 e-Return filing process through the EmaraTax portal. This brings the same direct-filing convenience that Indian users enjoy with Connected GST to the UAE market.
The VAT 201 return preparation within TallyPrime automatically categorizes your transactions into the correct return sections, including standard-rated supplies, zero-rated supplies, exempt supplies, and reverse charge transactions. The completed return can be exported in the format required by the EmaraTax portal.
Distribution Capabilities
TallyPrime 6.2 enhanced document distribution with several quality-of-life improvements.
- PDF export: All document types, including Arabic and bilingual invoices, can be exported as high-quality PDF files for archival or manual distribution.
- Email delivery: Integrated email sending with Arabic-compatible templates and proper character encoding for Arabic text.
- WhatsApp with Arabic templates: Pre-configured Arabic message templates for common business documents, including invoices, statements, and payment reminders.
