How to Update TallyPrime to the Latest Version
Updating is straightforward if you have active TSS:
Check Your TSS Status
Open TallyPrime → Help → About. If your TSS is expired, renew it first. TSS costs ₹4,500/year for Silver and ₹13,500/year for Gold (plus 18% GST).
Check for Updates
Go to Help → Check for Updates. TallyPrime will check for the latest version available for your license.
Download & Install
Click Update. TallyPrime downloads and installs the new version. Your data remains intact — updates never affect your company data.
Restart & Verify
Restart TallyPrime and verify the version in Help → About. You should see the latest version number.
⚠️ Important
Always take a backup of your data before updating. While updates don't affect your data, it's good practice. With TallyPrime 7.0's Auto Backup to TallyDrive, this becomes automatic — but for earlier versions, do it manually.
