What is IGST?
Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) is levied by the Central Government on inter-state supply of goods and services, including imports and exports. Unlike CGST and SGST which are levied together on intra-state transactions, IGST is a single tax that gets apportioned between the Centre and States. IGST prevents tax cascading and ensures seamless flow of input tax credit across state borders.
