What is E-invoice?
E-invoice or Electronic Invoice is a system of authenticating B2B invoices electronically through the Invoice Registration Portal (IRP) before issuing to customers. Mandatory for businesses with turnover above Rs. 5 crores, e-invoicing generates a unique Invoice Reference Number (IRN) and QR code for each invoice. This system aims to reduce tax evasion, streamline GST returns filing, and eliminate data entry errors.
